Karriyma's Maternity Session

This beautiful lady right here happens to be a dear friend of mine, and so it was very special to get to take her maternity photos last weekend. Karriyma and I were pregnant with our first babies at the same time (our daughters were born one month apart!) and now they are growing up together and play together often! We intended to take her photos at China Beach in San Francisco but on the day of our shoot it was very misty so we decided to head down to Stanford’s Dish Trail. Isn’t it a stunning location? I’ll never get tired of it!

Alex and Julie's Engagement Session

This beautiful couple is getting married this November in Half Moon Bay and I was over the moon when they asked me to photograph their wedding! They met and fell in love in Half Moon Bay so naturally we had to do their engagement shoot at a seaside marina right outside of their beautiful venue! Their darling dog Beatrice joined in for some of the fun later in the session which brightened my day and I know it will brighten yours too. It didn’t matter that it was a foggy evening on the day of our shoot, we made the most of it and had a lot of fun! Please enjoy!

Peter and Mercy's Engagement Session

Peter and Mercy have been taking walks in Golden Gate Park’s Shakespeare Garden since the beginning of their dating relationship. This was my first time to the darling little Garden and it’s always fun to explore more of San Francisco’s hidden gems! After the Park we headed to the Palace of Fine Arts where the sun poked through the clouds to create some exquisite light for us! Many of my clients really love the Palace of Fine Arts for its beautiful architecture and I am just so grateful to live in a city with such wonderful places to shoot at! Is there a beautiful hidden gem in SF that you know about and want to share below? Thank you!

Will and Bri's Wedding in Redwood City

This was one of the most surprising weddings I’ve been to in a while and that’s saying a lot! The groom is Samoan and so during the reception, Bri changed into a traditional Samoan dress and they busted out what was the most fun and exciting first dance I have ever seen! I’m not sure whether to consider it a first dance or a money dance because all of a sudden the entire crowd was tossing heaps of dollar bills into their heads as they danced away! It was so fun to watch and I was honored to be a part of their wedding. I also really liked the innovative rugs that they used for their dance floor amidst the beautiful redwoods. What a fun and beautiful wedding from start to finish!

Palo Alto Wedding

When people hire me for weddings south of San Francisco, I’m always hopeful that there will be sun! Sure enough, I left my house Saturday morning and it was drizzling, but when we arrived in Palo Alto it was a gorgeous sunny day! Gamble Gardens provided us with a beautiful first look location, and then we stopped in front of someone’s house to take pictures in front of this gorgeous tree that you’ll see below! I can’t get enough of big tall trees! You’d better believe that I am always on the lookout for a pretty tree to put in pictures. Enjoy!

Titus and Liana's Country Club Wedding

About 4 years ago I met Liana through a mutual friend for lunch. We lost contact until I joined Instagram a few years later as a wedding photographer, and Liana reached out to see about me shooting her wedding! Needless to say, it was such a sweet surprise to hear from her and of course I was very honored that she asked about my photography. I drove up to Sacramento for this couple’s engagement shoot in January and they had their horse join in for some of the photos which was just delightful. This past weekend I had the privilege of watching them get married in the most beautiful country club I’ve ever seen! You’ll see in these photos that Liana’s love for horses runs deep! It’s always really special when I get to be a part of the entire wedding day, not just the ceremony but also the before and after, because capturing those moments for people is really important. Not only was there a first look between Titus and Liana, there was also a first look for the bridesmaids! Their expressions were priceless. I don’t know which part of the day was my favorite, but I don’t think I’ll ever see flower girls walking down the isle with miniature horses ever again! You will also notice that this groom had FIFTEEN groomsmen! I repeat, 15! Nothing like a huge bridal party to prove that this groom is going to be a loyal and loving husband! All the best to you Liana and Titus as you venture out into life as a married couple!

The Vincent's Maui Maternity Session

For those of you who have followed along on my journey as a photographer for a while, you will notice that I’ve photographed this beautiful couple multiple times! These two are dear friends of my husband and I, and when we took a friend-cation to Maui, of course I knew we’d do their maternity session there! I can’t wait to get some sweet newborn photos of their baby boy when he makes his debut! The last photo in this post was taken in Maui’s tropical “Jungle” at Honolua Bay and I must say, it is one of the most beautiful and fascinating places I’ve ever been. I hope you enjoy these sun soaked pictures as much as I do!

Jess and Josh's Maui Session

While my husband and I were planning our vacation to Hawaii with a few other couples in our friend group, I decided to do some research into beautiful spots for photos on Maui. One of the couples who came with us was pregnant with their first, so I wanted a great place to get some maternity photos for her! I came across this wonderful photographer, Jess Johnson, who told me about some great spots to check out. A few weeks later Jess asked if I would do her and her husband’s photos while I was on the island since they literally hadn’t had their photos taken since their wedding 12 years ago! It was such a pleasure soaking up the beautiful Hawaiian morning with these two and as you can see, they are still beaming with love for each other after all these years! This is what my Hawaiian photo dreams are made of!

Martin and Maya's Engagement Session

I photographed the first part of this beautiful couple’s engagement pictures about a month ago on Treasure Island and they decided they wanted some more variety so we went to the Palace of Fine Arts this week to get some more great shots! It was raining when we got there, but we stayed under the dome until it let up. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in the fall! Having two engagement sessions has served to make us really comfortable with each other, so I just know that the photos we take on their wedding day are going to be so fluid and beautiful!!
